Waterlase MD™ dental laser is considered a safe, medical device that will give you the incredible dental experience you deserve. Laser dentistry gives patients the possibility of foregoing the sounds, heat, and vibration of drills – common discomforts known to scare patients away.

Waterlase MD™ laser is designed to not only alleviate the traditional pain that is associated with having work done, but to improve any damage or problems you may have; all the while leaving surrounding areas intact and unaffected by the laser. The four major areas of dental care that typically employ lasers are: cavity removal, curing or hardening bonding materials, teeth whitening, and periodontal or gum-related care.

Diagnodent laser is a modern way of detecting decay far more accurately than using the traditional dental probe.

Digital X-Rays give instant access to X-ray images for diagnosis, and these images can be magnified, clarified etc. and are automatically stored and easily accessible.

Digital X-rays have much lower radiation exposure levels.

Cerec CAD-Cam system allows instant construction of porcelain crowns and inlays from a digital photograph taken in the mouth.

This high-tech system is used to design, make and fit porcelain inlays and crowns. It provides a versatile, relatively simple, user-friendly method for fabricating aesthetic restorations in the surgery without involving a dental laboratory.

Electronic Apical Position Indicator measures the length of a dental root during root canal filling, saving multiple X-rays.

Lava Crowns are the latest type of crowns and bridges. These are made with porcelain (and no metal) by our dental technicians, and can withstand a very heavy bite.

Dr Martin Jones has empathy for the alternative health professional’s view on the controversy regarding amalgams and root fillings. Martin has not used amalgam in the practice for over 20 years.

For patients referred by Naturopaths for amalgam removal the risks are reduced by:
      - Pre-removal mercury level testing where indicated.
      - Pre and post procedure diet/medication regimes.
      - Isolation of area (sponge or rubber dam).
      - High speed air suction.
      - Independent air supply for patient.
      - Removal of amalgam with non-contact technique.
      - Replacement where applicable with porcelain/Cerec inlays.

Where a Naturopath has recommended extraction of root filled teeth, an assessment is made clinically and radiographically - but the final decision is the patients.

Root filled teeth extraction can be followed by laser application in the socket to reduce toxic effects.

Cerec CAD-Cam crowns and inlays are made from porcelain which is relatively inert chemically.

Dr Martin Jones also uses digital X-rays which minimise X-ray exposure.

Please identify any holistic requirements you may have when making an appointment.
