History

In 1976 Martin Jones arrived from England to establish himself in practice in Perth, Western Australia. He took the phone book and a map of Perth and identified an area where there was no dental practice – Lynwood.

Lynwood turned out to be a relatively new property development, where many migrants from England had settled – and where many remain today. Martin approached the local council about establishing a practice, and it was suggested he contact a local doctor who was seeking planning permission for premises to house medical and other health related practices.

Lynwood Dental Centre commenced in a room in the doctor’s existing premises; and then moved to purpose built premised nearby. In 1984 the premises were too small, so another purpose built medical/dental rooms were built by Martin and the doctor in the present, high profile location.

In 1985, John Edwards joined the practice as a partner and since then Martin and John have run their independent practices within the umbrella of Lynwood Dental Centre while covering each other when either is away. Our Dental Therapist Dawn Nosworthy has worked at Lynwood Dental Centre since 1982.
